If you're buying lots of lower tech things that require fuel, it will set you back in teching and getting out the beefier tanks. ![]() It isn't so bad to float manpower (to have a bit of extra manpower), but you really don't want to float fuel very much because it is scarce and you should be planning very carefully how you will use it. They do everything possible to stay away from the liberator zone and you can just attack them without hitting back. Not sure if Very Hard does this all the time, but Elite does. ![]() and nothing else, liberators can make the A.I’s brain break. You really need to tech up as soon as you have the fuel to do so. Another thing that new players struggle with is teching up quickly. The Ai is also very good at pressuring the choke points (cuttoffs), which can cause you to have many points unconnected to your base, so you lose resources. One reason is that you're holding enough points, but not the fuel points. If you were playing on standard and this happened, most likely you didn't realize that you were falling behind on fuel.
